Weekend Wrap-up (9/14)

Another weekend came and went and there was some good and bad at the box-office. The good is that two new movies topped the list at spots 1 and 2. The Perfect Guy took the number 1 spot while the newest venture from M.Night Shyamalan, The Visit took the number 2 spot (he he…number 2….). M:I-RN is still going strong while Compton is getting a lot of respect from all who have seen it.

The bad is that We Are Your Friends is the worst movie of the Summer that it has fallen completely off the charts and I can’t pick on it any longer.

Straight Outta Compton went straight to the top while the Fantastic Four is about to fall out of the top ten list! Mission: Impossible – Rouge Nation is still having a strong word-of-mouth while three new movies that hit this weekend had weak box office debuts.

Weekend Wrap-up

Tom Cruise and the 5th Mission Impossible hit big while Fox’s Fantastic Four came up short in the box office (with tons of bad reviews and press). The biggest surprise is that the comedies that are out are not gaining any traction and keep dropping week by week.

Flip side is that the top three are all new this week.

Weekend Wrap-up

Ant-Man drops to the number three spot after being in first for the last two weeks. While two new-comers are the number 1 and 2 spot…but that’s not always a good thing. Mission:Impossible – Rouge Nation took the top spot while the Reboot/Sequel Vacation crawled into the number 2 spot with a very weak opening. And is Amy Schumer’s star falling as Trainwreck can’t crack the t0p 5 after three weeks of release.

Weekend Wrap-up

Those little yellow Minion guys won the weekend and were the first to stop the dinosaurs of Jurassic World at the top of the box office. Self/Less and Gallows both started out poorly while Magic Mike keeps dancing his way to the bottom. Mad Max and San Andreas both fell out of the top 10 this week.

GforE! On The Scene @ Rolly Pollie’s (Despicable Me 2)

Despicable Me 2 opens in theaters, Wednesday, July 3rd!

Geek For E! was on the scene at Rolly Polly’s Funtastic Fitness Kids park in Crofton, MD this past Sunday, June 23rd to give out free advance tickets to the Baltimore based screening on Thursday, June 27th.  We’d like to offer a special thank you to Heather & Dana (below) for helping us organize the giveaway to families and patrons.  The kids were excited and the question we got asked the most?  Where was our LIVE minion?
