CHLOË GRACE MORETZ TO RECEIVE “CINEMACON® 2012 FEMALE STAR OF TOMORROW” HONORS

Kick Ass.  Let Me In.  Hugo.  And soon, Dark Shadows.   Chloë Grace Moretz is a young woman with a considerable list of quality performances under her belt.  And now she’s being recognized for it; Moretz will be awarded the CinemaCon Female Star of Tomorrow Award this April.  What is that, you ask?  Well, read on and I’ll fill you in.

CinemaCon is a convention of movie theater owners and operators from around the globe, and this year it’s in Las Vegas from April 23-26.

From the press release:

“With the poise and talent of a seasoned veteran, Chloë Grace Moretz has captivated the attention of the movie-going public since the age of five with an array of diverse and challenging movie roles,” noted [convention’s managing director] Mitch Neuhauser. “From the charming advice-giving sister in ‘500 Days of Summer‘ to the take-no-prisoners don’t-mess-with-me attitude of ‘Kick-Ass‘ to her most recent role as the spirited, adventuresome and supportive friend in ‘Hugo,’ she is truly a young force to be reckoned with. CinemaCon is so pleased to be able to recognize such a talented young lady, and we look forward to seeing her on the big screen for many years to come.”…

Moretz began her career in the entertainment industry at the age of five as a national model in many print campaigns and television commercials before moving to Los Angeles one year later to pursue a career in acting. Soon after, she was cast in a lead role in Michael Bay’s remake of “The Amityville Horror,” for which she received critical acclaim. She most recently starred in Martin Scorsese’s award-winning hit “Hugo.” Her other film credits include “Kick-Ass,” “Let Me In” and “500 Days of Summer,” among others. She has also appeared on the small screen as a guest star on such shows as NBC’s “30 Rock.” Moretz’s upcoming films include the independent feature “Hick,” in which she stars with Blake Lively, Juliette Lewis and Alec Baldwin; and the anthology film “Movie 43,” as part of an all-star cast.

Congrats to Moretz, and here’s hoping Dark Shadows is just as good as so much of her already impressive body of work!
